When one is told at mid-life that they have just months to live, the natural tendency is to wonder what might have been. For Dan Reich, who was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor in 2002, such wondering led to a remarkable project...the recording of a collection of songs which not only preserved his work but contributed to his current return to health. "Bigger is Better," released in fall 2003 by Dan Reich & Friends, features wry, rollicking songs that take on the dysfunctional side of American culture...corporate greed, religious intolerance, fast food and mindless consumerism.

The "Friends" have moved on to become time-travel wizards The Vanilla Extract, while Dan is coming into his own as a solo performer after decades as a sideman. This section is dedicated to the "Bigger Is Better" CD and the continuing story of Dan's life-affirming journey.
